Chapter 1: The Mission
"You want me to do what?!" I raised my voice, exasperated at what the Order wanted me to do. The house went silent, waiting for my further reaction. The sink stopped running, everyone stopped talking. It felt as if time had stopped.
"We want you to, um, go and spy on Voldemort..." Sirius's voice trailed off at the end of the sentence. I raised my eyebrows, leading to my next question. It seemed as if everyone was holding their breath.
"And HOW exactly do you want me to do that?" I sat back in my chair waiting for an answer. Gently picking up my glass, I took a sip of my tea. People looked to each other, clearly nervous.
"Through your boyfriend. Draco Malfoy. We think he may be a Death Eater, but we are not sure." I gagged, nearly spitting out my tea. My eyes widened, and I could feel the heat going to my cheeks. My hands shook a little at the name of my new boyfriend, giving me chills thinking about him.
"How did you know we were dating? He just asked me out this summer!" No one attempted to answer my question, leaving the room silent. I stood up slowly. The chair creaked against the floor as I pushed it in, about to leave. My hand was on the door when I stopped.
"Let me think about it." I quickly left the room, running upstairs to where my friends were. My ombré brown to red hair in a braid bobbed on my shoulder. All the paintings murmured as I ran by, probably hearing about the news. My feet pounded as I doubled the steps I took, finally making it to the top.
My knuckles rang against our door, waiting to be welcomed in. Instead, a gag was stuck in my mouth, my eyes covered as I was dragged to who knows where. I kicked and tried to scream at my attacker, but only succeeded in moaning, and about falling down the stairs.
I heard a door open, and I was thrown to the ground. My eyes were uncovered, the gag removed.
"Why didn't you tell us you were dating Malfoy!" Ron yelled at me, though not loud enough for the Order to hear. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion, trying to figure out how they heard about me and Draco.
"We used our hearing ears to listen in. We only heard about the part of you and Draco." Fred, or George, one of them, stated. I raised my eyebrows, a smirk playing at my lips.
"So you were stalking me."
"Not necessarily.." Ron rolled his eyes. He waited a few seconds before replying, "Well go on! Tell us the story."
"Fine. I received a note in the mail saying meet me at Flourishes and Botts at 7 A.M. on Monday, June 17. So I went there. While I was distracted by all of the books, Draco slipped his arms around my waist, whispering into my ear ,'Will you be my girlfriend?' And I said yes. End of story." I tried to hide my reddening face thinking about the time, but I couldn't help it.
"But why Malfoy? Of all the people!" Harry's voice rang out, the insult sticking to my brain.
"Because I believe he isn't as bad as he seems. Now will you all stop pestering me!" I raised my voice, anger starting to creep in.
They all agreed to stop bothering me, and let me be. The carpet softened the sound of my feet as I walked out of the room. My mind was made up.
I was going to spy on Voldemort.
