He had forgotten Valentine's Day. One of the most important days on a lover's calendar and he had forgotten it. Spectacularly. Now he was rushing around some muggle store called Tesco trying to find her the perfect gift and by the looks of it he wasn't the only bloke who'd forgotten.

Ron surveyed the selection of Valentine's Day cards in front of him, wondering if she would even appreciate a card. His girlfriend was really a card person. So he turned his attention to the flowers alongside him. There were roses and other romantic flowers he didn't know the names off but again he passed them by. Hermione was a very hard person to shop for. She didn't like large statements of affection. A few flowers every couple of weeks made her smile, the occasional little love poem, though Ron would never admit to writing poetry to any of his brothers, or a surprise visit from him at work where he'd treat her to lunch. That was what made her smile, that was what made her know that he loved her, it was all the simple things he had to offer.

"You're late home." He nodded, watching her as she carried on reading, her hand absentmindedly stirring a cup of tea beside her.

"Sorry, I got held up at work." She smiled, glancing at him as he continued to watch her.

"You alright Ron?" He nodded again, a slight smile spreading across his lips as he sank down next to her.

"Happy Valentine's Day." Hermione grinned back at him; she'd though he'd forgotten, as usual.

"Thank you Ron, happy Valentine's Day as well," and she went back to her reading book. Ron nodded again, getting to his feet and waling into the kitchen.

On the table stood a small wrapped present. He peered through the open doorway back into the sitting room. She was still sat there reading her book as cool as a cucumber. Raising a suspicious eyebrow Ron turned back to the mysterious gift, staring at the little tag attached to it. It was for him. Carefully he opened it, allowing the small gift to fall into his hand. It was a photo tag, like a key ring only it had a photo on the back of it, himself and Hermione smiling brightly for the camera. It had been taken at Christmas last year. They looked so happy, stood there in the snow hugging each other for warmth. It was a perfect picture of who they were.

"Do you like it?" Startled, Ron spun around, the key ring clasped in his hand. He hadn't heard her enter into the kitchen. She smiled shyly at him, leaning against the doorframe nervously waiting for him to talk to her.

"It's beautiful, thanks." He looked down at his gift, biting his lip as he looked back up at her, her nervous face as she waited for him to really tell her what he thought. "It's really nice Mia, I love it, but, I well, I don't have a gift for you, except, well, myself." Hermione couldn't help but allow her smile to broaden as he stood there, shuffling his feet and looking nervous as he now waited for her answer.

"Am I good enough?" He held out his arms slightly to the side as if to say 'here I am'. Slowly, she made moved towards him, placing a hand on his check and one on his shoulder standing up on tiptoe so she could softly kiss him.

"Darling, I wouldn't want anything else." He smiled, lifting her up into his arms, almost swinging her round in their tiny kitchen.

"Happy Valentine's Day honey." She grinned. It was definatley a very happy Valentine's Day indeed.
