A/N: I don't own Harry Potter.

name noun a word or set of words by which a noun is addressed or referred to

James Sirius Potter was the first. You could kind of expect it, really. The baby boy that Ginny held in her arms wasn't even a week old, but he already had a look of mischief about him, a look that could only have been rivaled by Fred and George, or James and Sirius. So, James Sirius Potter it was.

Next came Albus Severus Potter. He, unlike the two-year-old James, was a quiet baby, born four weeks premature, tiny compared to the size James had been. But he was special. James was special, too, but not in the way Albus was. Dumbledore was the greatest Headmaster Hogwarts had ever known, Severus Snape was the bravest man Harry had ever known. Harry had issues with both of them during his years at school, but he couldn't have defeated Voldemort without them. So, Albus Severus Potter it was.

Two years later, Lily Luna Potter was the last. If there was a James, there had to be a Lily, Harry reasoned. And then Nymphadora for her middle name. But Ginny disagreed. "Why are all of our children named after dead people?" she had asked, not quite angrily but not nicely either. Harry thought about that for a long time, so long that the baby girl still didn't have a name three weeks after she was born. Finally, they came to a compromise. Nymphadora would be saved for Teddy when he grew up and had his own kids. After a long debate, they agreed on Luna, because Luna had told Harry in his fifth year that "those who love us never really leave us". The name would provide some sort of closure to all the dead people her brothers were named after. So, Lily Luna Potter it was.

And, to see the look on Luna Lovegood's face when she finally met Lily was definitely worth it.
