This is an example of what I tried to say in my first story. Taking "T is for Thunderstorm," and an idea I already had, I came up with this. Review, please?
AUTHOR UPDATE: I am currently working on U, more specifically, U is for Unicorn, and it's going well, if slowly. Please be patient with me, 'kay?

Ahim sat by the fire in the back of the cave, away from the rain and wind howling outside. She rubbed her right calf gently, wincing. It had been wounded a few days ago, and was not healing the way it should. Joe, with whom she was stranded, was currently out in the storm trying to find fuel for the fire. When the tall swordsman approached the mouth of the cave, soaking wet and bearing an armload of wood wrapped in his jacket, she asked their pass question, to which he gave the correct response, and in return asked her question, which she answered correctly. He set the wood by the fire, and stacked a few of the old logs on, building the flames higher.
The moment Joe got a good look at his shipmate, he noticed the faint signs of pain on her face and the way she was gently rubbing her right leg. Mentally cursing his stupidity, he remembered that she had been injured in their most recent battle. Scooting over to her, ignoring the fact that he was still wet, he reached for her leg, saying,
"Let me see."
"It's all right, Joe-san, I'm fine," she protested, laying her hand defensively over her leg.
"No, you're not. It's been bothering you ever since you got it. Let me see."
Reluctantly, she pulled her hands away, and let him pull off her boot and stocking. The moment he laid a hand on it, he felt the severity of the wound: it was now hot, a sure sign of infection. Several thousand meters away on the Gokai Galleon, Marvelous sneezed loudly at least fifteen times as Joe mentally insulted him for causing Ahim's wound to get so bad. Reaching around Ahim, Joe grabbed his large brown satchel. In it was the medical equipment and supplies he kept in case of emergencies during his training sessions, and a knife. Grabbing the knife, he looked at Ahim and said,
"It's infected. I have to lance it to get the pus out."
"Just do it, Joe-san. I have been in this situation before."
Hesitantly, Joe cut Ahim's calf, making one shallow incision. He heard the soft intake of breath, and felt her leg twitch slightly as his knife sliced through her skin. The cut immediately oozed a smelly, yellowish-green liquid. Cleaning the knife on the leg of his still-damp pants, he closed it and replaced it in the bag. Glancing at the ex-princess for permission, he gently massaged the area around his incision, and more pus extruded from the wound. After getting as much pus out as he was able, he treated the wound with an antiseptic and wrapped it with a length of bandage. Replacing both stocking and shoe, he looked at Ahim, who nodded her thanks, and smiled before yawning widely.
"You've been up all day, you need to rest," Joe said, placing a few logs onto the fire. "Go to sleep, I'll keep a lookout for the others."
"Arigato, Joe-san," Ahim said sleepily, lying down close to the fire, and fell asleep instantly. Joe pulled Ahim's coat over her, and then watched the woods for some time, long enough that the sun finished setting, and night truly set in. Since it appeared that their shipmates were not coming tonight, Joe stoked the fire to make sure that it was burning brightly, then laid down himself, and went to sleep. Sometime during the night, the two of them managed to re-arrange themselves so that Ahim was curled up between Joe and the fire, and Joe had his arms wrapped protectively around her.
