Hero

"Die, Sarutobi-sensei."
A cruel smile crept into his pale features as he twisted the knife, deeper into his former teacher's chest. There was blood everywhere, but the old man's eyes still glinted with ferocity.
He seemed to mouth 'I'm sorry', as he pulled two knives from nowhere. He should've expected it, the old man was crafty after all. He tried to get away, but they both tripped, the roof's cement ground slick with blood.
The knves pierced his shoulders, and his eyes widened. He would not scream. They weren't long enough to kill him. But the old man reached his face towards him, whispering his last words.
"I've cut the muscles straight through. You'll never hold a gun again."
And then, he was gone.
The young boy stood, looking at the grave, feeling helpless. What had he done, when the school'd been attacked? He'd gone off, chasing after Sasuke and the foreigners. They'd run through the city, into the forest outside.
The gunfight had been wild. He wiped the tears from his cheeks. They'd threatened Sakura, tied her up. He'd gone crazy, whippping out his guns like it was notihng and going after the redhead in a flash. The demon inside him had roared, and the other had responded. Sand, Fire, they flashed wildly as they fought.
And while Naruto was playing the hero, his own hero had died. Orochimaru, the one everyone had thought was crazy, wanted his revenge. He thought he'd get to be the master of the school, and it was given to the Flash instead. The Flash had been a legend, with bullets like streams of light, feet like nascar racers. Of course he'd get the school. Orochimaru would have turned those kids into killing machines.
He had no heart.
Naruto muttered a small prayer for the old man who'd been so forgiving of him, even after everything he'd done, and started to walk away.
"Goodbye, old geezer," he muttered as he walked away.
