Eyes brightly twinkling Tony turned to me and said, "Whoever loses has to clean the bathroom for a week."
"No way. But, hey, what makes you think that I'll lose?"
Tony's small grin on those luscious lips almost made me lose control again for the third time today. I started to reach up and trace the outlines of those lips, but decided against it since he just challenged me to a game of hoops. The look in his eyes was telling me that he was thinking the same thoughts that I had. "Hoops", I said, "back to the hoops."
He just grinned again and got up to put on his clothes. It was one of those magical weekends that everyone was gone and wouldn't be coming home any time soon. Work could wait. Tony time could not.
I followed his lead and grabbed my bra and my white tank. I looked over at him, smiled, and threw down the bra and just put on the tank. I reached over and grabbed his blue buttoned down shirt that he had worn all day yesterday. I inhaled as I held it close to my nose. His scent – that I could sometimes smell on me.
Tony shook his head and mumbled something under his breath. Maybe he'd share with me later. We had to focus right now on who would clean the bathroom.
I pulled my hair back in a ponytail, trying to look tough, with my game face on.
"I'll be right back, I have to get another shirt," he said as he walked across the hall to his room. He came back wearing the rose colored shirt I bought him a few weeks ago. Could anyone be any sexier than that? Focus, Angela, focus. Hoops. Bathroom.
He raced me down the stairs and grabbed the basketball sitting by the back door.
"Well, what does the winner get to do? When I win, I need to know," I smiled at him. What was I thinking? How could I beat Tony?
"That's for me to know and you to find out," he said, leaning in, his warm breath tickling my ear. He backed slowly away and began to bounce the ball on the pavement.
I tried so hard to shake the shivers off my spine. He could still make my heart flutter. I still can't believe that he's mine. All mine. I traced the outline of my engagement ring, longing for the day our wedding would make all things official. We've made it through Iowa, we can make it through anything.
He dribbled, I drooled. I loved to watch him with that determined look of winning in his eyes. He was a man on a mission. I tried desperately to block him and stop him. He has years of experience on me. What's left? Cleaning bathrooms? No way. I decided to use my womanly charms and distract him.
I took the ball, but he grabbed it back. I got right up in his face, looked him in the eyes, and gave him a mind blowing kiss. The kind, I hoped, that would be mind blowing. For a moment, I forgot where I was, but then I remembered and I grabbed the ball and got two points.
"No fair," he said, trying to grab the ball again.
I took off the blue shirt and threw it down on the ground. He stood there for a moment and finally said, "That's REALLY not fair."
Whoosh! Two points for me. He tried to grab the ball again, but I twirled in front of him and put my back up to his chest. I heard him growl, so I had another chance. Two more points!
Tony looked at me. Beads of sweat were trickling down his forehead. I tried so hard not to notice the happiness in his tight fighting jeans.
"Ok, you win. I can't take it anymore. You win. Do you not know what you do to me?" He pulled me close and gave me the mind blowing kiss. After a few minutes, he said, "I will willingly clean the bathrooms."
"So…I'm the winner. I get to choose," I said, breathing seductively in his ear. "Race you upstairs and I'll show you. Tell you. And show you again."
