The room was dark when Philippines entered her papa's house. She thought it was strange. Spain had called her during her siesta saying that there was an emergency at his house that needed help with. She could've sworn that she heard muffled voices in the background, which was suspicious since the Spaniard was always either alone or had Romano for company. Leaving her shoes by the door, a habit thought to her by her Asian siblings, she entered the eerily quiet Spanish house in search for the light switch. Feeling the wall, she finally found it and switched it on.

"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIA!"

Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw all of her friends and family gathered into the large living room with a tray of cake.

"You guys remembered!" she happily said with tears of joy in her eyes.

Spain approached her and gave his former colony a hug.

"Of course we remembered! Who wouldn't? Now go and enjoy your party, mi hija"

And she did. She was going around the place greeting everyone and thanking them for the surprise, when she stumbled upon a large mass, that mass being the largest country out of all of them, Russia.

"A-ah…Hello kuya Russia." She said with a smile even though she was shrinking slightly. He was nice and all, but his massive size always intimidated the small country.

"привет comrade Philippines" [hello] he said with a innocent smile on his child like face. "Happy Birthday"

"Ah, salamat po kuya Russia, Happy Birthday to you too." [thank you] She said bowing slightly, a habit she got from Japan.

She suddenly got a spine tingling sensation from behind her; she looked at Russia who was suddenly cowering in fear which confirmed her suspicion on who was behind her.

"H-hello po ate Belarus…" she said fearfully.

"Прывітанне Philippines, brother." She said glancing hopefully at Russia. "I also came to wish you a Happy Birthday." She said rather calmly.

Man, her brother complex and anger issue therapy classes were really paying off. It also helped that she was a close friend of the Filipina's. Yeah, that helped the situation a lot. You turned to speak to the Belarusian just as Russia turned and fled.

"Why does brother always run from me?" Belarus sighed to herself.

"I don't know Belarus." Philippines said sympathetically.

"Oh well, better chase after him and ask to be one, see you at the next Yaoi fangirl meeting Philippines." She said as she sped off after her brother.

She just looked at the dust that rose up from the speeding girl. She just shrugged it off and continued to enjoy the rest of the party.

a/n: well this was complete bull… It's just a random thing I conjured up for Philippine Independence Day. Flame if you want, this was complete crap. Oh well, Happy Birthday Philippines~!
