Aang's Last Wish
The war is over and I should be glad
But for some reason I am still very sad
Fire Lord Ozai and Azula are dead
And I lie here dying on my cool, hard bed
The greatest healers have done all they can do
But I know in my heart that I will die soon
Katara, Sokka, and Toph – my friends
Will be there for me 'til the end
But Katara is more than a friend to me
I love her so much and I hoped that we
Would be lovers forever
And that nothing would ever
Come between you and me
Katara, can't you see?
I love you with all of my heart
But death has torn us apart
I love you so much, can't you tell?
Without you life would be hell
Before I die I just want to say
You are my hope, my life, you brighten my day
The room was silent, no sound could be heard
As Katara spoke the long-awaited words
"Aang I will always love you
And I'm glad that I knew you."
With a kiss and a tear
She erased all of his fears
Aang smiled and leaned back and breathed his last breath
Katara had given him his last wish before death
