"Class, class, may I have your attention please?" Ms. Darbus more commanded instead of asked, but did so using a delightfully airy tone.
"This year," she began, pacing around the room, looking for any miscreants that she needs to punish. "We will be having a Secret Santa."
Chad rolled his eyes, as did almost the entire class.
"Are you kidding me?" he said leaning over to Troy. "That's the goofiest thing I've ever heard."
"No comments Mr. Danforth." Ms. Darbus snapped. "You must all participate and we will exchange gifts the day before winter break. Tomorrow you will draw to see who you are shopping for." she said before the bell rang and all of the students stormed out of the classroom.
The next day, everyone placed their names in a Santa hat and pulled out the names of someone else to see who there Secret Santa was. Troy was Gabriella's secret Santa. Gabriella was Chad's. Chad was Taylor's. Taylor was Jason's. Jason was Martha's. Martha was Ryan's. Ryan was Kelsi's. Kelsi was Zeke's. Zeke was Sharpay's. And Sharpay got to be the secret Santa of Ms. Darbus!
"Oh, and don't forget!" Sharpay suddenly said, after everyone picked their secret Santa and she was walking through the hall with Gabriella and Chad. "Be up bright and early Saturday morning so we can make it to the airport on time!" Sharpay said.
"We'll be ready Shar," Ryan moaned as he walked over to his group of friends and overly zealous sister.
"Yeah, you've only reminded us a thousand times." Chad reminded.
"Remember to tell everyone else?" Sharpay asked. The group nodded, but Sharpay knew they really wouldn't tell anyone, except for Gabriella. Gabriella knew that she had to remind Taylor, Troy, Zeke, Jason, Kelsi, and Martha to make it to the airport so they won't miss their flight. Sharpay worked hard to put this entire trip together and she didn't want anything messing it up.
The group of friends decided that they wanted to spend winter break together. And after convincing their parents to let them have winter break to themselves and convincing Sharpay and Ryan to chip in for some money, the friend's were off for two weeks of fun on the slopes in and in the snow at a winter lodge. The winter lodge where Gabriella and Troy first met to be exact. The two were hesitant to vacation there at first, but Sharpay wouldn't let this place slip through her hands.
Sharpay and everyone else, except Troy and Gabriella were hoping that this vacation would be a defining one for the two. Gabriella and Troy had been friend's since meeting at the lodge almost one year ago, but never anything more than friend's. It was quite obvious to everyone else around them that there was an undying chemistry between them (just ask Ms. Darbus who cast them as the leads for the play because of this chemistry) and the guys knew that Troy liked Gabriella, just like the girls knew that Gabriella liked Troy. So hopefully this trip, taking them back to where they first met, will make them finally stop beating around the bush and finally admit there true feelings for each other.
That was the plan, but everything doesn't always go according to plan. Either way this was going to be a vacation full of fun, surprises, romance, presents, jealously, and so much more for the friend's who got to share it together.
