If You're Reading This, a danny phantom fanfic

I'm still working on 'Closer Than You Think', but I had this idea, so here it is. I don't own 'If You're Reading This' Tim McGraw does.

6 months pregnant Sam Fenton went to her mailbox on a sunny Friday afteroon to see if she had gotten a letter from her husband, Danny. He had went off to the milatary a few months ago and had been sending herletters non-stop. Little did she know, it would be his last. Sam had just gotten into the house when her mother-in-law Maddie Fenton walked in.

"Hi, Sam!" she cried, pulling her into a hug. Sam smiled as they broke apart. "I was just about to open this letter from Danny", Sam explaned. "Would you like to read it with me?" Maddie nodded. "I'd love to!" she replied and the two walked over to the couch and sat down. Sam opened the letter and her mouth dropped open.

"Dear Sam,

If you're reading this

My momma is sitting there

Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here

I sure wish I could give you one more kiss

War was just a game we played when we were kids

Well I'm laying down my gun

I'm hanging up my boots

I'm up here with God

And we're both watching over you

So lay me down

In that open field out on the edge of town

Sam started to cry as did Maddie as Sam put a hand on her stomach. 'I know she'll be strong' Sam thought. 'But most importantly, I know Danny's in a better place.'
