"A rose for lady lily" A 15 year old Severus bowed slightly while handing a single blood red rose to a certain emerald eyed girl.

"how did you do that? You didn't use your wand." Lily enquired while accepting the gift.

"Ah lily being a muggle born you should know a magician never reveals his secrets."

Lily looked at the rose; it was perfect in every way. She had gotten flowers before; James sent them by the barrow full, along with chocolates, bears, and vast amounts of other items. They didn't mean much. But it takes a special type of man to look over the material superficial items and see the infinite beauty in a single scarlet rose.

She turned to face Severus, stood on the very tips of her toes, and softly placed a kiss on his supple smirking lips.

Waking from his daydream Severus looked around to see where he was. Of course. It was their wedding.

"If there are any objections let thee speak now or for ever hold thy peace."

Severus could feel his heart slowly dying with every syllable of this cruel, vindictive sentence.

After the ceremony had ended he walked out of the shadows of his lone table and towards the happy couple.

The crowd around them settled down and became quiet when they saw him approaching.

Gazing into her emerald eyes. He reached the table, gave a flick of his wrist, and a single perfect blood red rose shot out of his sleeve and into his hand. Handing it to Lily he congratulated both of them. Looking Potter in the eye and knowing that it should have been the other way around.

"Will you stay for a while Severus?" Lily looked at him while holding her rose delicately.

"I am sorry but I must leave. Goodbye Lily." And with that Severus walked out of the venue cloak billowing behind him.

After the reception, Lily picked up the rose examining its beauty noticed that there was a piece of parchment attached to the stem. She turned it over and smiled to her self as she read it.
