"Alexis..." My heart cried silently.
"Dad?" My 4-year-old daughter said. Slowly I picked her up.
"Yes Ash?" I asked.
"I miss mommy..." She said. Ashley, my daughter looked exactly like her mother but had my personality.
"I miss her too." I said.
"Daddy? Why did cancer take her?" she asked.
"I don't know baby, I really don't know." Tears formed in my eyes as we stared at the gravestone. "Come on Ashley it's time to get home" I said. She nodded waving at the tombstone.
"Bye mommy." Clutching her tightly I accelerated. We quickly reached the house and Ash raced off somewhere probably to the game room. I shook my head, kid acted too much like me sometimes. I went into my studio, ignoring the wedding pictures that hung in the hallway, I couldn't look at them yet I couldn't bear to take them down. She was still here, echoing off the walls pushing her deeper into my thoughts. I didn't want to think of her it hurt too much to remember her pain, knowing there was nothing I could too, some hero I am I can't even protect the ones I love most of all. I then heard the sound of sing star being played, listening closer I could hear my daughter singing.
