A/N: Final Fantasy fans probably recognized the title as Shiva's ice attack. It's a reference to the coldness of their relationship in this fic.

-- Diamond Dust --

My eyes are closed but I can feel him looking at me. What is he waiting for, a confession of undying love? For me to stroke his ego by telling him how great he was? Or does he actually want to snuggle?

Well, I'm not doing any of that.

"What?" I mumble without opening my eyes. "If you're going to kick me out, at least let me sleep a little first."

I swear, I will never understand her. I wasn't planning on making her leave. She usually does on her own anyway, in the middle of the night while I'm asleep. She can't go back to her own room tonight at all, though, because her husband has locked her out while carrying on an affair of his own.

Of course, she was cheating on him with me before she ever found out that he... ahem, likes it in the rear.

"Tell me something," I say, and before I can get out the rest of the question, she opens her eyes and looks straight at me.

And she says, "I like to kill things."
