A Thrill of Hope, The Weary World Rejoices Part 1

A shrill cackle broke the silent darkness. Ariki turned and looked, but saw nothing. He smacked himself, and muttered, "I've been out past dark again, Mum and Dad will kill me!" He took off with a run towards town, his wooden sword smacking against his side. His stubby four-year old legs carried him slowly along, and he thought again what it would be like to be the great Link. Suddenly, a orb appeared before him, which appeared to be attached to a staff.
"Walli, walli, puppet, wall, bind this boy under the wall," an unseen voice said. Ariki called, "who's there?", but received no reply. He saw for an instant what appeared to be a axe hurtling towards him, and he ducked low to the ground, but everything went black. He headed for home when he awoke, but suddenly a voice in his head told him to stop. He did, and just seconds later, a wall collapsed, completely destroying his town.
Ariki shreaked and spun around, and the world appeared to vanish. When he awoke, he was chained against the wall in some dungeon. It was clearly evening out, judging from the weak light spilling through his prison's window. He appraised the situation, he still had his wooden sword, and was wearing his blue woodsman clothing. In anger, he pulled his arm off, and to his surprise, the chains were yanked from the wall! He then heard a cruel laugh, and the world began to swirl around him.
He was standing where he had been when he blacked out, and he finally saw what had been bothering him this whole time. A wizrobe in black robes carrying a wand was glaring at him. He said, "okay, little boy, you may have figured out who I am, but let's see how your body is compared to your mind." He swung his wand over his head, and with a shriek, a burst of flames poured out of it. Ariki swung his sword, and the flames were blasted back towards Wizrobe. They slammed into him, and he fell screaming, "master, I have failed you, how could I be beaten by a mere boy?!?!"
Ariki watched in horror as the Wizrobe vanished, and the world began to shake violently. Then, a hooded figure appeared in front of him. "Little child with large strength, here my plea!" "I am the world in physical manifestation, I am aging and need revival, you are one of the last three hopes!" Ariki whimpered and began to cry, and the earth spirit said, "I will use a little of my remaining strength to bring you of age!" Ariki suddenly grew, and when he was done, it appeared that he had quadrupled in age! The spirit said, "now you may go out and defeat the opposer, you will find him in Dark Tower!" Also, "you will have one ally, but beware those who claim to be the one!" The spirit dissapeared, and Ariki looked down in wonder at his new sword, which appeared to be made of copper, as the blade was a rich, dark color.
