Eddies of wind circled her, tossing silky hairs over her cheeks.

She lifted her pale face to the moon, a wolf, lost from its brethren.

Her hands clenched, her breath quickened.

She felt the familiar twinge of discomfort.

Her eyes grew hard, her knuckles white.

She turned slowly…slowly.

She tilted her chin up, the slight breeze causing her long brown-black hair to fly across her pale face.

A mocking smile graced his lips.

He looked into her eyes.

She stepped forward, eyes glinting.

His smile faded, his breathing quickened, his look was fear.

She spoke, her voice freezing yet filled with burning hate.

"You…"

She stared straight at him, his mismatched eyes filled with…something.

"Have…"

She stepped closer to him, loathing wreathing the air around her, crackling with its intensity.

"No…"

He stepped back, she came on.

"Power…"

Her eyes were hard, her face filled with hatred.

"Over…"

Her hands came up, power building in them as burning light, illuminating his emotion-filled face.

"Me!"

Her power exploded, washing over him, a breaking wave that held all the fear, the wrath of these many years. His swiftly-darkened eyes stared at the triumphant, raging, broken figure before him.

And a quiet tear escaped him, and he saw within her eyes a distant echo of his anguish.

"I love you……"
