Disclaimer: I do not own Arthur or Gwen
The Last Goodbye
Arthur and Guinevere stand side by side
So much they want to say, but there's no tim
Because now they are the King and the Queen
And all of their fears must remain unseen
A squeeze of the hand and he moves forward
Without mentioning the coming horror
He mounts his horse, makes a speech to his knights
Rides out, but glances back for one last sight
The clattering of hooves fades, and he's gone
She tries to think back to where it went wrong
While others leave she stands there all alone
And this time she knows, he's not coming home.
AN: So this is one of my original poems. Its in pentameter, I'm pretty proud of myself. Sorry if you don't like the ending. But if they stay true to the legends, I imagine something like this happening. Please feel free to jot a review and let me know what you thought.
