Women's Problems
Characters: 9th Doctor, Rose and Jack
A/N: It may occur to some of you what I was going through at the time I wrote this.
Heading back to the control room, the Doctor walked past an open door. Realising it was Rose's room, he peered inside. Rose lay on the bed, still in her pyjamas despite it being almost midday Tardis time. He walked in, and stopped at the foot of the bed.
"What's up with you then?" he queried. "You humans, you'd happily sleep your lives away, you're all so lazy" he joked.
"Hey, it's not my fault." She replied. Now turning over to face the Doctor and clutching her stomach.
"Well, you're the one still laying in bed at midday" he smiled, earning him a disapproving glare from Rose.
"Its women's problems" she said, raising her eyebrows at him.
"Oh, right" he said, now understanding fully what she meant. He immediately changed his tone from humour to caring. "Do you want me to get anything for you?"
"Well, don't suppose you could hop along to the kitchen and get me some chocolate and the hot water bottle maybe?" She looked over at him, eyes wide, knowing full well that he couldn't resist that. Just as predicted, the Doctor nodded turned and left the room.
Outside her room, Rose could hear Jack had met up with the Doctor and was currently asking him what he was up to.
"Just getting something for Rose" he replied before Rose heard the echo of his footsteps fade away and Jack entering the room.
"Morning, or should I say afternoon, Rosie" Jack cooed. This was rewarded with a pillow being thrown at him, Jack only just managing to escape the hit.
"I told you not to call me that again!" she ordered, giving Jack the same disapproving glare the Doctor had received earlier. She knew full well that this was never going to happen; he always had and probably always would be calling her Rosie.
"Anyway, what's up with you then?" Jack asked, seeming genuinely concerned. He perched himself on the side of Rose's bed and looked down on her.
"Women's problems. You guys have no idea what we go through every month" she replied, staring at him.
"Oh really, are you sure, or is this like the other times where you've said that just to get the Doctor to run around after you all day?" he asked, smiling.
She held his gaze for a few moments in an attempt to look serious before she finally cracked. "Nah, I didn't really want to do anything today, felt like being waited on. I've got him wrapped round my little finger, me." She admitted, smiling now, making Jack laugh.
"It's a good job he doesn't keep track of all the times you do this, the timing's getting a bit erratic." He said, standing up and making his way to the door.
"You've been keeping track?" Rose asked, now wondering how he would know that.
"You'd make a good con woman though," Jack continued ignoring this particular question. "We should work together on that" he said in complete seriousness, now stood at the door, having heard the Doctor's faint footsteps coming form somewhere down the Tardis corridors.
Rose laughed and shook her head before resuming her position, lying on the bed, hands clutched round her stomach in readiness for the Doctor's arrival. Jack wandered off down the hall, and Rose heard him saying "Hey Doc" followed by the Doctor entering the room.
He was carrying a tray with two cups of tea and a large bar of Cadbury's chocolate on it, plus the hot water bottle. Rose simply smiled to herself and realised however much he denied it, he does do domestic.
