He was afraid, but he called upon his courage as he ran through the tunnel holding her hand. She looked frightened, pale, and curious to find out what the guards would do to them once they caught up. "They're catching up" he told Yuna, griping her hand harder, running faster. "Look, up ahead. There's no way out!" Yuna and Tidus ran to the enormous wall, where the guards would surely catch them. As they stopped, out of breath, they heard the guard commander yell to his soldiers "On my signal, fire!" Tidus looked at Yuna with sad, but happy eyes. He put his hands around her, Yuna got closer. They both gazed at each other knowing that their fate was close. They heard the commander scream "Ready boys! 3...2...1.FIRE!" the bullets came fast knocking Yuna and Tidus away from each other. They fell on the ground, looking towards each other. Tidus tried reaching for her. Yuna, lying on her back, reached for him too, knowing they would not make it. With one last smile, and a tear running down her face, her eyes closed. Tidus tried to get up, but with one last breath, he fell.
"Good work, boys. We got 'em!" the commander said as his army of guards walked away. Yuna and Tidus lay on the ground helpless and still. Slowly, their spirits rose from the bodies circling each other in the air. They were still with each other, even to death.
