"Where are we going?" Fuji asked, clearing branches out of his path as Tezuka led him through the forest.

"To the lake," Tezuka answered curtly, and closed his eyes to take in a whiff of the forest scent. He loved the smell of nature, and - if he had any miniscule interest for girls whatsoever - he'd probably date someone who wore natural perfume.

Fuji cocked an eyebrow as Tezuka unwittingly declared his love for the outdoors, and picked up a handful of leaves from the ground. He stalked up to Tezuka's back, grinning as he stood on his tip-toes. He raised his arms over Tezuka's head, and let the batch of leaves spill from his hand.

Tezuka spun around, shock painted on his face as he growled the culprit's name venomously. Fuji tried to stifle his laughter by covering his hands over his mouth, but a string of giggles seeped through his fingers.

"Fuji..." Tezuka sighed. Said boy immediately realized that Tezuka was about to shower him with a stern lecture (accompanied by a growl or two), and desperately tried to lighten the mood by pulling out the hem of Tezuka's T-shirt and stuffing the rest of the leaves inside.

And that had been the last straw.

Fuji laughed, sprinting through the forest as Tezuka ran close behind him, drilling holes at the back of his skull with his stares.

Fuji looked back to see Tezuka closing their distance, and picked up his pace. A smirk on his face, Fuji mentally initiated the challenge with his smile. Can you catch me?

Tezuka's eyes darkened a shade, the corners of his mouth turning upwards as he returned the silent question. Just watch me.

And just like that, Fuji was on the ground, writhing beneath Tezuka who had pinned his arms over his head. Tezuka leaned over Fuji on his knees so he wouldn't straddle the other boy, but that seemed a far more tempting option with Fuji's glazed eyes staring at him and his lips openly parted.

Slowly, Tezuka leaned down, unsure of what he was doing, when the parted lips decided to speak.

"You finally caught me, captain."

Tezuka frowned and sat himself up, trying (with no avail) to beat down the faint blush on his cheeks. "I haven't been your captain for over four years now," He murmured.

Fuji nodded and got up as well, his pulse still rapid from the chase.

An awkward silence passed between them.

"Let's get going before the sun sets," Tezuka suggested, walking ahead, and Fuji followed close behind.

a/n: Um. Yeah. Wasn't how I wanted to end it, but maybe I'll do a sequel.
