Norrington's Lullaby

Author's Note: As my time on Fanficton continues, you will see that I remix a lot of POTC scenes that, to tell you the truth, didn't like at all. This is my first one. I hope you like it. It's a remix of Norrington's death. I mean, I'm sure all of you who are fans of Norri would say that Norrington at least deserves a peaceful death, considering everything else he's been through. I got this idea after watching my friends act out Rue's death from The Hunger Games. All rights go to POTC and The Hunger Games.

Watching from the water, she saw him collapse. His name rang out across the sea. Her voice was in a scream.

"JAMES! NO! NO!" she was biting back tears. Then as fast as she could, she swam from the cold water back to the Dutchman where she climbed up the embedded ladder on the side. She swung herself onto the ship and darted in front of James. She pulled out her pistol, aiming it at Davy Jones's gruesome crew. "Go away!" she said menacingly. Then the crew, who was weaponless, backed up and disappeared.

Elizabeth set her pistol on the ground and kneeled in front of James, who was fighting to stay alive.

"Are they gone?" his voice was barley a whisper. Elizabeth, who was clutching his face, crying, could only nod.

"Yes, yes." Elizabeth gently put his head in her lap to where his green eyes, which were very rounded and innocent looking could look into hers. He tried to painfully remove the wood from his chest. She lightly touched his chest.

"Don't." she said.

"Sing." he said, "Please Elizabeth, sing for me." Elizabeth quickly thought of a song her mother used to sing and, taking his hand, used her voice, soft and sweet, to sing.

My precious one, my tiny one,

Lay down your pretty head.

My dearest one, my sleepy one,

It's time to go to bed.

My precious one, my darling one,

Don't let your lashes sweep.

My cherished one, my weary one,

It's time to go to sleep.

Just bow your head,

And give your cares to me.

Just close your eyes

And fall into the sweetest dream.

'Cause in my loving arms,

You're safe as you will ever be.

So hush my dear and sweet.

His hand slipped off of hers and his eyes closed. She gently set him down, as if not to wake him. She removed the wood from his chest and folded his hands. She then took off his wig and let his brown hair down, then, after smoothing it out she said, "I've always thought you looked better with your hair down." she whispered. She then brought his head to her face and kissed his forehead. "Goodbye, James." she said. She got up and began to walk away, and with one last look at him, she climbed off the ship.

Author's Note- I hope you guys liked that, the idea was to make it much sadder than the real thing. Please review, thank you.
