Double A (Amazing Ashley)
Chapter One:
Jacob and I were sitting on the sand. It was night and the sky was dark. Stars shimmered down on us, as if they were smiling. The only light was a single street light near the empty road. I checked my phone, 1:00 am. I smiled. Jake shifted as he pointed up into the sky.
"Hey, look at that one. It's a shooting star." He said. I looked up, my eyes gazing. I grinned when he whispered into my hair. "Make a wish," he said. I closed my eyes and moved my head up to the sky. I only one thing I wanted…the one thing I needed…. I opened my eyes, staring up at the sky. Then I looked down at the horizon, a shadow figure stood there, staring at us. I gasped. Shooting Star. No, no no. I don't want this. Please no. Take it back! I immediately questioned my wish. Jake stared at the person, his arms curling around me.
"Who's that?" he hissed. He didn't expect an answer, and I didn't give him one. Even though I knew, exactly who it was. I stared, my face going blank until finally the stranger spoke.
"Bella?" he asked. I felt my breath being swallowed. Just a dream… I promised myself. Jake rumbled as I felt a low growl burst from his throat. That's overprotective Jake for you. The stranger walked forward… his face coming into view through the dark mist. Jake's arms were nearly crushing me as I pulled my head out to look.
"Stop," I said, calmly, my voice cracking. Jake looked at me. I didn't know which I was talking to. Then I could see the strangers face. Words failed me, but I knew who it was all along. Edward. I felt my palms start to sweat. There he was, his perfect crooked smile, his brown hair, and his eyes. His eyes... dreamy as can be. Jake growled.
"Bloodsucker..." his low growling voice came out. I stayed silent, unable to stand it between them. Edward's eyes turned from me to Jacob. They turned a deep shade of blue, such a depressing color. "You're not supposed to be here," Jake stated. Edward looked down at the sand and his hands opened wide, stretching his arms up, as if to show he held nothing. Jacob didn't buy his stammered expression. "Why are you here? Why'd you come back, bloodsucker?" he asked. I leaned my head into Jacob.
"I don't know... how I got here... where I came from..." Edward stammered. I looked up from Jacob's chest and stared at Edward. I couldn't tell whether he was lying or telling the truth, but I knew one thing. He was here, ten feet away from me. My Edward. My soul, heart and flesh. The one I'd been so concerned about for almost a year now. The one I hadn't seen in so long. They were looking at me. Both of them. Jake's eyes pressed into mine, as if to read them. He understood, what I had wished for now. "Bella," Edward said simply, his voice breaking at the point. His eyes felt different. Maybe it had been because I hadn't looked into them, felt them in so long.
"Things are different, Edward," I stammered. Jake wrapped his arm around me at the perfect moment.
