It would've been a dark and stormy night, but let us time travel to morning. The pumpkin sun was halfway in the sky, glowing orange and bathing Halloween Town in a warm glow. The warmth didn't seem to reach the town, however. As usual, a breeze whispered past here and there, tumbling the dead autumn leaves on the hard, gray ground.

Barrel was wandering through the pumpkin patch, searching for a certain kind of insect that made refuge inside the thick stems; a perfect ingredient for the horribly tasty Bug Batter sandwiches. His ever-present grin faltered a bit when he grabbed blindly behind a rather large pumpkin, thinking he had seen said insect, and clutched onto something furry instead.

Curiosity took hold of poor little Barrel; of course, the Treehouse Trio would normally recoil in disgust when faced with something cute, innocent, fluffy, or otherwise, and the ever-grinning boy, what with his stash of innocence hidden in that big head of his, felt nothing more than light confusion.

Lifting up whatever it was that he had captured, a look of surprise crossed his features. It was a rabbit -- no, a bunny -- that he had grabbed. Yes, rabbits are different from bunnies! ..how? Well, you see, they -- oh, never mind that! This humble author shall tell you another time. The hare's fur was not pure white nor brown; it was pink. Indeed, a cotton candy sort of pink with a snowy underbelly.

The creature twitched it's cute little nose and blinked it's lively eyes. Barrel continued to stare stupidly. He had seen something like this before, but where? Now, making a child who has never heard of a school in his entire lifetime think seems like a crime, therefore I won't describe much more of the many thoughts going through his mind.

By this time, the tangerine orb of light rose higher into the awakening sky. Lock and Shock were much smarter than he was; they'd probably remember when he showed them the bunny. Just as the lollipop-less child was about to skedaddle, rustling to his left distracted him. He cradled the calm animal in his left arm, making sure it was secure, before walking towards the sound.

Alas, when Barrel reached the source, it was none other than another pink and white hare. It looked up at him, quivering slightly, and it was about to hop away, but the boy was too quick (what a surprise). He snatched it by it's ears, just like he had with the other, and grinned widely at it. "I gotta show you to Lock and Shock!" he said excitedly as the newly caught bunny settled down a tad, and off he went, weaving through the pumpkins and rushing back to the treehouse, two adorable little animals in his grasp.
