Tides of Love
"NOOO!!! You will not
get to Hitomi! I won't let you!" screamed the wounded King of Fanelia. The man
merely grinned at this. "Young King, I'm merely taking away from you, what your
father has taken away from me so many years ago. He sent us out of his kingdom,
no food, and no chance of survival. Yes we had committed a crime, but your
father would not hear us out, would not give us mercy! Once out of the kingdom,
my true love died. SHE DIED YOU HEAR ME?!" screamed Myrdan, an old servant of
the Fanell family. 'He has come back… Back for revenge…' thought Van, 'Myrdan could
read people's thoughts. That's how he knew about Hitomi. Hitomi, my true
love…' "Hmmm… you two are psychically linked somehow, aren't you? I'm sure the
more pain you endure, she'll know and come to you." Myrdan chuckled, "Hold him
down!" he said to his men. Then he raised his sword high, and struck hard.
"Yukari!!!
Hurry up! We're going to be late again!!!" shouted the tall green-eyed girl in
between gasps from running. "Hold on! You know I can't run as fast as you! I'm
not the one on the track team!" panted back her friend. At last they had
reached their school. As the green-eyed girl was about to run inside, while
deciding the right excuse to give her teacher, her vision got blurry. She felt
a cold chill run up her spine. In the faintest voice she heard someone call out
to her. "Hit…omi…" She stopped abruptly, and tried to breath, trying to
understand what had just happened. 'That voice…' she thought 'Was it really him?'
"Hitomi! Don't just stand there! We're late!" cried Yukari running past her.
"Co…coming!" And in she ran.
Back
home, Hitomi threw her bag on the floor and slumped onto her comfy bed. 'Was
that really him? Was he really calling out to me?' she thought. All of a
sudden, a surge of heat breathed into her, unlike the feeling she had before.
This time she felt something cold and hard strike down on her arm. It felt like
a knife piercing deeply into her. "AHHHHH!!!" she screamed. She looked down on
her arm, but saw nothing. "Oh no… Van!" Immediately after she had said this, a
tarot card dropped onto her lap from her desk. "The tower card?" It was a
picture of a burning tower with people falling from it. "This means
destruction… Destruction of what though? Van… something about Van… I must get
to him!!" She saw a bright light above her, and felt herself being lifted into
it. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in a dark place. She held
her pendant, and felt that she wasn't alone… "He...hello? Is anyone there?" A
small muttering voice answered her. "Hit… Hitomi?" She knew that voice. She
could never of forgotten that voice. "VAN! Where are you?" She spun around and
immediately indicated a figure in the corner of the room, slumped over. She ran
to him and knelt down. "What happened? What's wrong?" She saw that his right
arm was pierced cleanly through with a sharp object. She could barely hear him
say, "Leave… you must leave…" And all of a sudden footsteps were heard and the
door swung open…
