Peter adjusted the scarf wrapped around his neck, his cheeks burning red as his eyes darted around, checking out his surroundings. It was the middle of July, everyone was wearing shorts and cut off shirts. Some girls even wore shirts that showed their stomach—he was surprised they didn't get in trouble by the school because of wearing that sort of clothes, even though it was high school and they were juniors.

On the other hand, Peter wore the usual—a pair of jeans, a t-shirt with a design on it and now the scarf around his neck. His classmates eyed him and he saw a few of them whispering. "Why is he wearing a scarf in the middle of July? Is he crazy?" He heard a girl say to her friends, shaking her head. She too was wearing a cut off shirt. Peter cursed over and over in his head for the problem that this was causing. The scarf was also making him heat up even more, he felt like he was going to die from heat stroke. But it saved him the embarrassment from showing his neck.

'God dammit Wade, could you at least wait for scarf season to give me hickeys? Jesus Christ,' Peter thought to himself, making his way into the front of the school. This was going to be a long day. He almost died on the spot when he remembered that he had gym all week.
