AN: Post wedding fluff. No spoilers.
Just something that popped into my head.
I'd never been to a wedding, so I couldn't compare it but this, this was my favourite one. I got to see my Dad marry Bones. The woman he would always talk about; and now I understand why. I watched them on the dance floor, their first dance. As it changed from the wedding waltz into their song; Hot Blooded, I laughed. They were a pair of spastic dancers but the love on their faces was perfect. They were in love.
Christine was sitting on my lap and I bounced her up and down, she was happy and giggly.
"Hey C, wanna go and dance with Daddy and I'll go and dance with Mummy?"
"Yeah Park, dance!" she exclaimed and she clapped her hands together.
I got up from the wedding table clutching Christine on my hip and walked over to them. They didn't notice us, they were lost in each other.
"Um, excuse me, may we have this dance?" I asked them.
They smiled at me,
"Sure buddy. Come here baby," Dad took Christine from me and placed her on his feet.
"You gonna dance with Daddy?"
I watched as she nodded and they spun and danced away from us. I looked back at Bones and smiled at her. This woman was now officially my step mother, but we both knew that she had always been that.
"Bones?" I held out my hand for her and she took it.
I placed both my hands around her waist and she placed her hands on top of my shoulders.
"You look very handsome, Parker." she smiled her one hundred watt smile at me and I was overcome with the need to kiss her cheek. I lent up on my tippy toes and placed a small kiss on her cheekbone.
"Thank you, Bones. You look beautiful. You've made Dad really happy."
She blushed,
"I know. He's made me happy too. Lets dance."
We spun around the dance floor and I watched as Dad and Christine spun around too, Christine giggling and smiling as Dad picked her up and cuddled her to him.
"Bones?" I looked up at her and she looked down to mine.
"Hmm?"
"I love you, and I couldn't be happier that you're now officially my step mum. Do you mind if I call you Mum now?"
I could see her beautiful mind working and she nodded her head,
"I would love that very much, Parker. You know I've always considered you to be my son anyway. I still remember the first day I met you, do you remember that day?"
I did, the day Dad gave me that awesome robot.
"Yeah, Bones, I do remember it." we exchanged smiles again and continued dancing.
The song finished and Bones and I headed back to the bridal table and watched as Angela danced with Dad and Hodgins had both Michael and Christine in his arms.
"Hey Bones," I pointed to the dance floor.
"Aren't we two of the luckiest people on the planet? Look at our family."
She ruffled my hair,
"Yes Parker, we are very very lucky."
At that moment Dad looked up at us and smiled, that smile that I knew so well, the smile that told us he was proud and safe and happy.
