I have a message. Lieutenant Colonel.. Henry Blake's plane.. was shot down.. over the Sea of Japan.. it spun in.. There were no survivors. -Radar O'Reilly

***Hawkeye's pov***

Radar was the first to know. He probably knew something was going to happen to Henry before anyone even told him. He insisted that he would be the one who would tell the rest of us, knowing that he wouldn't be very good at this.

A while later, I find Radar, sitting on his cot, hugging his bear.

"Radar.. are you okay?" I ask.

"I don't know.." Radar says, looking up. His voice sounds distant. It's bugging him a lot more than he thinks it is.

Why doesn't he just admit it when something's bugging him?

"Sorry. Bad question." I say, sitting by him. "Want to talk about it?"

"Hawkeye..." Radar says cautiously.

"Yeah, Radar?" I ask.

"Why did this happen?" he asks.

"I.. I don't know. I can't tell you that." I say.

"This shouldn't have happened." Radar says. "This is my fault."

"It's not your fault." I say forcefully. "Why do you say that?"

"Just forget it. It's stupid anyway." he says, looking down.

"Radar, you're one of my best friends, okay? I know this is bugging you." I say. "Just tell me why you're blaming yourself."

"It's because I couldn't do anything about it." Radar says, barely looking up. "I knew it would happen. I should have said something."

"It's okay." I say, putting an arm around his shoulders. "But please don't blame yourself. You didn't do it."

Radar looks up, his grey eyes filled with tears. "He's gone."

"He's gone." I confirm. There's not really anything else to say.

"You miss him too?" he asks.

"Yeah. Just like everyone else." I say, smiling at Radar's innocence.
