Affection, Friendship, Eros & Charity

By SMYGO4EVA

Rei has heard about these significant factors. The Four Loves, distinguished by the author C.S. Lewis, are affection, friendship, eros and charity. Whenever she thought of anyone of them, she unexpectedly thought of Usagi. God knows why, but Rei herself was a bit confused at this point. She understood friendship with the odango atama, since she is in fact Usagi's closest friend among the Senshi and they have been through everything together. From battling forces of death to the entrance exams to high school, she comprehended camaraderie. Still, the other three were embezzled in mystery.

She loved Usagi in a platonic sense, but she wasn't in love with her. She loved Minako, her angel, her light. Her hikari, you might say. Eros was in human form within the Senshi of Venus, her lover, and even she couldn't deny it. Affection encased in obsession could define Eros perfectly, the epitome of love. However, even though she loved Minako with all her heart, she was reminded of Usagi.

Charity, the sense of giving, was to find love. Sacrificing one possession so another would be saved. The ripple of generosity felt great, but at the same time nostalgic. So, Rei decided that she was in love with Usagi and Minako, but she had let Usagi go. So Usagi would continue to live life and for her to love. It was for the best. The Four Loves were significant, after all.
