Chibi: OK well originally I WAS going to make a complete people's history of America… but since school is ending and I've to return my APUSH textbook I can't really go back to what I had planned I'll just do this one-shot on one of my favorite era's I might do more like the Roaring twenties, The New Deal, and the Korean War but I'm not sure anyways this MIGHt be historically incorrect because I have a vague memory of this… anyways let's continue on yes?
X~X~ McCarthyism ~X~X
Alfred was afraid, something completely different from his new hero personality, after his former boss' interest in the Second World War, before that Alfred and his bosses' just planned to stay away from every nation in Europe… but that plan had dwindled away when Kiku's forces attacked Hawaii. Alfred and his allies won the war; however a new threat arose, the Soviet Union was spreading communism… and fast, and the fear had come to America's home just like it had after the First World War, Alfred hoped it would just come and go like it had all those years ago, however he was wrong and now he was afraid.
America's boss had just appointed America to join Senator McCarthy on a "Red Hunt" and in short time McCarthy had accused several people, Alfred knew McCarthy was playing with everyone, however Alfred knew his boss would just brush it off if he spoke against McCarthy and even worse he would be accused as well. He couldn't really speak with anyone else about it Britain, France and several other nations were busy rebuilding their homes, ravaged by war. Alfred knew he was helping rebuild… Alfred felt useless; he was too afraid to move against McCarthy. One day he decided to take a break and rested in a café.
"Pardon me is this seat taken?" somebody had asked him, Alfred looked up and shook his head; a man took a seat next to him. He smiled warmly at Alfred, his smile made Alfred wonder how someone can keep a smile while a hunt was going on.
"You look tired" Alfred commented, the man looked at him again
"Huh? Oh yeah I just came back from Salem, and wow what a place. While I was there I read about the Salem Witch Trials and it reminded me of the red hunt going on in the nation. It inspired me to write about this." Alfred looked up at him, they both sat for a while making small talk after a while the man got up and said.
"Thank you for letting me sit down in such a busy café, I hope you see my play soon." He said
"I probably will, what will it be called?" Alfred asked
"The Crucible by Arthur Miller" He responded and walked out, Alfred smiled, he liked the name and he felt that it wouldn't be forgotten soon, Alfred got up and reported back to do the devil's work in the House of Un-American Activities Committee. Alfred continued with his accusations against several ordinary people. One day Alfred himself was accused, although he wasn't surprised word had gotten out of his suspicions against McCarthy. He already heard the man he met in the Café had been accused; Alfred grimaced as he was due in court.
…
…
Before Alfred knew it he was in front of the court doors. He grimaced as he entered the door, and awaited his case…
Done… Welp that's it Like I said please don't bash because it's historically incorrect… I meant to put Alfred's court case but I said nah let's not, Anyways this was a good break from my final on the war on terrorism anyways see ya.
