When I Look at You

My World Stops …

My Heart Stops…

My Mind Stops…

When I look at you, I remember why I live,

How wonderful the world is, and how wonderful you are.

I realize I can't live without you. I know my dreams with be filled with your smile.

I know you will make me smile by just being in the same room as me.

But, when I look at you, I know you will never be with me.

My name was Victoire Weasley, his name was Teddy Lupin. I was a fifth year, he was a sixth year. I loved him, he thought of me as a best friend, because…. We were best friends.

I was kissing goodbye my relatives when I heard Teddy Lupin call my name, "Victoire! Hurry, the trains about to leave! Come on!"

I sprinted over to him squealing, "Teddy! I've missed you so much!" He caught me in a tight hug just as the train made a menacing screech as if to move forward, "We've got to get in! It's starting to move!" I said.

"We'll make it! Don't worry."

Teddy and I had been friends since birth; we knew everything about each other, we finished each other's sentences, and we always knew when there was something wrong. Normally, I would've spent everyday of the vacation with him, but this year I had spent the summer in France visiting my Grandparents. We had written everyday of course, but I had missed seeing his hair change from orange to purple.

"How was France? I missed you so much, Vic. It just isn't the same not seeing you around with the Weasleys."

"It was fun, but nothing compared to playing Quidditch outside the burrow." I laughed, memories of the first time both of us were placed on a broomstick flooded into my memory.

"What are you laughing at?" He looked down at me.

"Only your failed attempts at Quidditch…"

"Hey! I was four!" We opened up a compartment door to find our best friends. This was a mixture of both fourth years and fifth. I was close with the sixth years as well as the fifths due to knowing Teddy. This friendship had brought all of our friends together to become one mixed group.

"VIC! How was France?" Becka asked impatiently. I was then thrown question after question about the food, the people, and everything else possible. I was not good in situations like this and Teddy knew that far to well. I looked across at him helplessly.

"Guys! Guys! Give her some room to breathe. But, don't you guys want to know about my summer?" He called diverting their attention.

"Thank you." I mouthed to him. He gave me thumbs up and began telling his own story.

We were the best of best friends, and yet, I was in love with him. I, Victoire Weasley, loved Teddy Lupin, who had been my friend since childhood. I had known this since our first year at Hogwarts and had lived with it for four, why should I break down now? I would have to live with the fact that he and I were just friends, and not getting my wishes and daydreams in the way of reality. He and I were friends, nothing more, and nothing ever more than just friends.

Should I continue? This is just a short prologue, the chapters will NOT be this short!
