Link sighed and strummed half heartedly on his guitar. He played a section of 'Seven Nation Army'.
The courtyard of Hyrule Palace was silent, save the quiet music. A few guards wandered in, drawn by the music. One of them offered to play with Link. Link couldn't turn the teenaged guard down, so he nodded and the boy joined him on the steps.
"Name?" Link kept his eyes on the strings as the boy hurried up.
"Syoran Li." (XD) The youth took off his helmet, revealing sandy blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
"Link." Syoran nodded, then started to play the base of 'Seven Nation Army'. A few moments later, another figure asked Link if she could play. This time, it was a familiar figure.
"Sure, Malon. You can take drums." Malon complied and started playing the random notes of the drums and cymbals. The music was getting more complicated.
The next person who joined, much to Link's surprise, was Saria.
"Erm, can't you not leave the forest?"
"Sage powers. Tambourines?"
"Sure."
Link stood up as the music went from soft strumming to louder rock. He grinned, then grabbed a microphone from nowhere and started singing.
"I'm gonna fight 'em off" Syoran's strumming began to grow louder.
"A-Hyrule Kingdoms army couldn't hold me back." Link was really getting into it, and they had only been playing for about five minutes. More and more guards began to crowd in.
"They gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back" A guard turned up the amplifiers.
"And I'm talking to myself at night because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind behind a cigarette" Link strummed softer, and his voice grew a bit softer as well. The rest of the 'band' followed suit.
"And a message coming from my eyes says leave it alone" Link paused for a brief solo, along with Syoran.
Link stopped for a moment, and Syorans gentle strumming was the only sound. Then, Saria joined in, then Malon, and finally Link.
"Don't want to hear about it"
Every single one's got a story to tell" He grabbed the microphone with one hand. (how he would keep playing do not know. ^^')
"Everyone knows about it
From the the King of Hyrule to the hounds of hell" Link laughed subtly.
"And if I catch you coming back my way I'm going to serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear but that's what I'll do" Link strummed harder.
And a feeling coming from my bones says find a home" Another brief solo.
"I'm goin' to Termina
Far from this opera forevermore" Saria tapped her foot.
"I'm gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore" Syoran took Link's place in front, and the Hero of Time took Syorans.
"And I'm bleeding and I'm bleeding and I'm bleeding right before my lord" Syoran sang much better than Link, and the crowd responded with loud roars of approval.
"Oh, the words are going to bleed from me and I will think no more" Syoran grinned at Link's apparent discomfort.
"And the stains coming from my blood tell me go back home" Syoran finished the lyrics, and the group proceeded to strum louder and harder until Syoran gave the cue to fade.
