Again.

And again.

And again.

They were always the same questions, always by the same people. First it had been Yasmin, and now it was Foster. They were asking him about the Ishimura, about his mission –"A mission for which you volunteered, am I right?-, about the Marker –"What did you find aboard that ship, Isaac?", about everything … about Nicole.

But Nicole was taboo. That very name and the person behind it were taboo.

Isaac struggled to answer. His head was aching terribly and it was spinning, he couldn't focus on a single spot, and it was becoming harder to breathe. Darkness was all around him now, and Foster's questions were mere dust in the air.

Because Nicole was there, right in front of him.

Her face was the bloodiest he'd seen in his life, in his dreams, in his nightmares. The Marker's grip was on him: it wouldn't let him go.

And so, with hollow bloodied eyes, she –it- spoke again… like it always did. "Make… us… whole…!"

It was there: the pain, the pain, the… pain. It wouldn't go away. It was always with him: his loyal companion.

"Isaac! Isaac, can you hear me?"

But it didn't matter. He had to get away from her, he had to escape the pain and the horror. He refused to look at her: he couldn't face Nicole, and neither could he face the world he was waking up in.

Then, something happened, and too fast. There were screams, a struggle, and more pain. Always pain. When Isaac came to, he was in his cell again, restrained, cold and alone. Like he always was. He didn't even try calling for the doctors, for someone, to help him out.

"It spoke to me… It did… It spoke to me!"

How to make them understand?

And he screamed.
