*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
A Poem from Jill Valentine's POV.
My search was long and brutal,
There were dead ends at both ends of the street,
I thought I'd never find,
I thought maybe you'd be dead.
But then again,
How could anyone kill you?
In my mind, you're invincible.
In my mind, your face still smiles,
And there's still that spark in your eyes.
The relief came when I found you still alive,
The greater relief when I saw you smile,
That unforgettable, boyish grin.
Now tears of happiness run down my face,
And I hold you near,
I pray the moment will never end,
And I'll be in your loving embrace forever.
But our time is not unending,
And no amount of hoping will freeze this moment.
Soon our work must resume,
Our mission must continue.
Our lives remain tormented false truths,
And whispers of the dead.
We will live on despite the death that surrounds us.
The death of our enemies
The death of our friends,
The death of our town,
The death of all too much humanity.
We will fight for our lives,
We will fight for the truth,
And we will fight for vengeance.
But for now,
I hold you close,
And pray the walls of death will remain at a distance.
