Well, many people wonder why the explosions on Eureka seveN, one of the most recent mecha animes that I fell in love with, were lilac even when there were no bodies or anything in the line of fire.
Here is my crazy solution. I'm not saying it's the truth, this is just what I think.
It involves Dominic (who was in more fights and would most likely notice it more than Renton) and a little taste of Anemone.
Enjoy.
Disclaimer: Now, if I owned Eureka seveN, there would be about 57 episodes by now, and it would still be going on.
Dominic had never really wondered about the booms. He had never really cared, and was busy focusing on other things. So why did he care now? Well, when a certain sadistic girl named Anemone came along, he was watching her every move on the battlefield. That's when his guard was on noticing everything the enemy did. That's when he was always keeping his ears peeled for Anemone's constant tantrums and screeches about her headaches. That's when he realized.
The explosions were different from what was regular.
The explosions were colored lilac.
Dominic had spent a little while pondering this, and wondering why it was so.
He wondered and wondered, even after he had confessed his love to Anemone. In fact, he had asked the Coralian girl himself. She would just smile slyly and not answer the question.
He asked the Captain. He shook his head and said, "I don't know."
Finally, he went to ask Anemone again. Finally she said something.
"Anemone, why are the explosions lilac?"
"What, you're still figuring that out?" Anemone said in an airy tone.
Dominic flushed in embarrassment; like this was something a mere child could figure out.
A mere child that was Coralian, to be precise.
"Y-yeah, I haven't figured it out yet."
"It's quite simple. What do you need to lift?"
"Trapar." Dominic replied quickly.
"Right, and what do you need in bombs?"
"There's… chemicals?"
"Exactly. The chemicals and Trapar react and make a color. That color is…"
"Lilac."
"Good." Anemone turned and walked away.
"Eh? That's it?"
"That's it," Anemone said in an uncaring voice.
"What a simple solution… I can't believe I've been pondering it for so long…" Dominic turned and muttered curses to the color lilac and explosions in general.
Yeeaaahhh, once again, this is just my explanation for why the explosions are lilac.
This is MY IDEA.
NOT BONES'S.
