Anakin shivered. He was still cold, even under the blanket Padme had put over him a little while ago. He got up and, taking the blanket with him, went back to the quarters reserved for the Jedi.

Qui-Gon was asleep on his bunk, snorning softly, but Obi-Wan wasn't in there yet.

Anakin hesitated for a moment, shivering, then went over to the bunk that held the sleeping Jedi.

"Qui-Gon?" he said softly.

Qui-Gon didn't move.

"Qui-Gon?" he repeated a little louder.

Qui-Gon still didn't move.

"Qui-Gon?" he said louder as he reached up and shook the broad shoulder.

Qui-Gon woke up, a little startled, then relaxed when he saw who it was.

"Ani, what's wrong?"

"I'm cold."

Qui-Gon's steady gaze was compassionate, and Anakin suddenly found himself being pulled beside the Master.

"Well, then, you'll just have to sleep with me for tonight."

Qui-Gon put the blanket over both of them, and Anakin snuggled closer to the big man's warm chest. The Master smiled and wrapped his strong, musculed arms around the boy.

Obi-Wan came in later and stopped at the sight of his Master with the red blanket over him and Anakin, with the boy snuggled up in his arms.

The young man couldn't help but smile at how his Master was such a sucker for kids.
