Shadow looked at her mother, searching to see if she was kidding. Just moments ago, her mother suggested Shadow left the Tribe of Frozen Rivers, claiming it's not safe anymore. With Shard now in charge of the tribe, his hatred will be directed to Shadow, seeing that she was the better choice for leader. Age did not matter in the tribe, as long as you knew what you were doing.
"You know being half-tribe, Shard's hatred will only grow! You must leave, quickly before he kills you!" Shadow's mother, Ember hissed quietly. Shadow only shook her head. "No mother! I can't run from my problems! I will not let him take my life away. If he tries, I will take his. I'm named Shadow because I am anywhere, everywhere, yet nowhere, remember?"
Ember rolled her eyes. "Shard fights dirty, remember? No doubt he would cheat and have other cats help!" She mewed, pulling her kit to the back of her den. Shadow cocked her head, as if thinking about all possible outcomes.
She sighed. "Okay, I will leave. I will follow the sun west, and not stop until I find somewhere to live. Are you coming with me?" She mewed reluctantly. Ember shook her head.
"I must stay here, with the tribe. It would be obvious you left if I had gone with you." She mewed, like it was the most obvious thing in this world. Shadow shook her head. "I must be going now," she mewed, before hissing quietly in her mother's ear "I will head south, and I will not stop until I find a place to live. If you want to find me, you'll know where I am."
Ember nodded her head, looking sad. She ran her tounge over her kit's fur, before allowing her to leave.
Permantly.
Shadow had been traveling for...What? Six days now? She followed the faint scent of cats, for what seemed like forever.
The gentle breezing blowing the grass in the field pulled along the scent of cats. Shadow looked confused as to why there where so many scents here. As she padded up the hill, Shadow took in all the sights at once.
To her left, the moor was just being there, in all of it's heather-y glory. The wind was making it look alive and moving, which it probably was. On the other side, a river seperated the two different biomes. A forest was filled with lushious green, while a pine forest sat across from it. A rivery field was too far away to travel, and Shadow wanted to know what lies ahead for her in the forest.
