"Hide and Seek"
tap, tap
Tear frowned, putting down the map she had been studying. It was the eighth time that sound had occurred in the last half hour. She was starting to worry it was a sign of something wrong with the mechanisms of the Albiore. However, it didn't seem likely. If there was a problem, one of the others would have noticed it as well and would have gone to investigate by now. So, the noise was most likely nothing. Still, it wasn't normal. When the sound repeated, Tear decided that she had better not take a risk and followed the sound to its source.
tap, tap
The noise came from the corridor. Tear scanned the area for any clues onto what could be making the mysterious noise.
tap, tap
She turned her head and it was only then that she noticed a small crate near the end of the corridor. Tear recognized the crate as the one where Noelle kept her extra tools. What could possibly be making nosie from there? Puzzled, Tear went over and opened the crate.
As soon as the lid was lifted, she was greeted by a bouncing, cheerful Mieu. "You found me!" the cheagle cried happily. "Does this mean I win?"
Tear stared, dumbfounded. "Win? Win what Mieu?"
"Hide and seek." He suddenly frowned. "Did I play it wrong? I've never played this game before."
"Um...no, you did fine," Tear replied quickly, not wanting to worry the little cheagle. "Who were you playing with?"
"Master!" Mieu replied, waving his little arms. "He put me in here and said that we were playing a game called hide and seek. He told me I had to stay in here until somebody found me."
Tear twitched a little. In other words, Luke was feeling annoyed and put Mieu into the crate in some hope for peace and quiet. How could he do that to the cute little cheagle?
"Is something wrong, Tear?" Mieu asked concerned.
"No, it's nothing." Tear swiftly scooped Mieu up into her arms. "Let's go find Luke. I think it's his turn to hide for a while."
Mieu smiled, not noticing the dangerous glint in Tear's eyes. He never knew that hide and seek could be such a great game.
