Bone woke up from a long sleep. It was two nights before the SoulTakers would start the attack on Lumin City. He checked his moonstone, slipping it out of the center of his titanium chestplate. It glowed brightly in the night, and lit up the SoulTaker Training camp. He looked around at all his fellow SoulTaker trainees. See, Bone had one dream. He wanted to one day be like his father and become a SoulTaker assassin, and sit by the King, just like his father used to, before he had been executed by Graythe, a LightGiver. Then, once he was the second in command, he would find and kill Graythe, and take revenge for his father. He slid the moonstone back into his Chestplate, and as the other trainees woke up, he drifted back to sleep.

"Bone. Bone! wake up. It is time to practice." Bone rose from his bed and put on his helmet and assassin's cowl. He took his belt and tied his knife and sword sheaths onto it, and quickly slid his weapons into them. He then took his bow, and slung it over his back, and did the same with his quiver of arrows. Training was his favorite part of the night. SoulTakers only slept in the daytime. To make them able to perform their duties at night. If a SoulTaker did not sleep in the day, but during the night, he would not grow up to be a strong healthy SoulTaker. The first part of training was always archery. Bone was an exceptional archer and was almost at the top of his class if it wasn't for the incident with Claw, who was mean and had broken Bone's longbow and arrows before the final round in the shooting contest. Ugh. Bone hated him.
