Summary: Dana makes Shane promise her something

A/N: Only seen up to episode 7 of season 3, so don't know all that much about Dana's death. Dana/Alice, Dana/Shane (Friendship).
"Shane?" The young woman stirs from her light slumber as she hears her name being called. The others are all scattered around Dana's apartment, fast asleep. Shane, lounges in a chair by her bed with Alice on the other side keeping guard over the woman she loves, even in her sleep. Dana strokes the blonde's hair lightly, a trace of a long lost smile trying to break free on to her tired face.
"Keep an eye on her for me?" She asks simply, she makes no attempts to hide the motivation behind her request. She knows she's dying. She knows Alice will fall apart. And lastly she knows that Shane is the only one besides her that could ever support the fragile blonde.
Shane nods, accepting the responsibility with no talk of death or illness, as if Dana isn't sick and as if Shane wasn't biting back tears to try and protect her dying friend. She doesn't have the heart to tell her she'll be as messed up as Allice without her.
