His glasses inched down his nose, useless now that they'd steamed up. He'd forgotten he'd had them on and didn't bother to remove them once under the water. He didn't even feel like bothering with the shower cap.

It would be his motivation for finishing up; even if it was only for fourteen minutes, he didn't want to sleep with wet hair.

He felt something brush his back.

"Good morning Raymond..."

He hadn't heard him come in. Unsurprising, he wasn't really with it right now. Neither was Ray, if he should judge by lack of response.

"Sleep well?" Generally he didn't engage in much other than shop-talk, but for Ray, he made exceptions.

Some sound, soft enough to have been his imagination.

"... I think you and I could use a day off. We-"

A wet slap on his shoulder.

He squinted through the steam at the strip of white that had landed there.

"Augh!"

That was it, he needed sleep, Egon told himself as he hurried to his bed, cheeks pink not only from the heat. Fourteen minutes wasn't going to cut it if he he ended up talking to the cursed beard in the shower.
