Hawkeye had been arrested by his own men. Unbelievable! Nobody trusted him anymore, thanks to the stinking Black Widow. Now, one of SHIELD's best agents was staring at a wall. Which was the highlight of his day.

"I hate this," he muttered to himself.

"So do I," another voice said, outside his cell.

Clint started in suprise. He turned, and saw…

"Morse? Bobbi?"

The blonde woman had a sad look on her face.

He'd had visits from some other friends in SHIELD. This was different, though. Bobbi didn't demand to know why he would betray SHIELD. She didn't rant about what a disappointment he was. She didn't tell him he didn't deserve his own title, his own team, his own spot on SHIELD.

She simply said "Why?"

"Why?" He repeated. "WHY?! You wanna know WHY!? Well I'll tell you WHY…I DON'T FREAKIN' KNOW WHY, because I didn't betray SHIELD! Not that you'd believe me, nobody does! And why would they? They'd rather believe the amazing Black Widow. Me, I'm just an ex-carny who-"

"Clint."

"What?"

"I trust you."

"WHY?"

"Because you're a lot of things-an ex-carny, a superhero-but you're not a traitor. You're a loyal SHIELD agent, and I refuse to believe otherwise."

"Pfft. You're a moron."

"Clint?"

"Nobody trusts me."

"Remember our 'date'?"

"…It…wasn't a date. I was-"

"You aren't the greatest guy. You can be a jerk sometimes-"

"Hey!"

"-but I know someone who would do that for me when no one else even thought about it…couldn't be a traitor for HYDRA. Ever."

"So you believe me?"

"Yes."

"And you believe Black Widow's the traitor?"

"Wait, you think WIDOW's the bad guy?"

"I know she's the bad guy."

"…I…I still believe you."

"No you don't."

"I do! And I will do everything I can to help you get out of here, if I have to break you out!"

"Why would you say that?"

"Because it's true!"

"Why would you say that?"

"I'm serious, I'd do that for you!"

"Why!?"

"Because I care about you, idiot! More than anyone I've ever met, I care about you!"

Well, that shut Clint right up.

It shut Bobbi up too. Her face turned red.

"'More than anyone you've ever met'?"

"I…yeah, more than anyone."

Cint's face turned the same shade as Bobbi's. "Well…thanks, I guess. I appreciate that."

Bobbi smiled. "I should be going. See you when you get out."

She left.

The archer smiled. At least somebody believed him.

It was good to know someone cared.
