Prologue
"I'm sorry Brody," Gigi Marasco cried, "It just came out. I didn't mean to tell Rex about Shane."
"You didn't mean to? Come on Gigi, we both know that you've wanted to tell Balsam about Shane since the moment you saw him," Brody Lovett yelled.
Gigi looked up at him, tears filling her eyes, "I'm sorry."
"Forget about it Gigi," he said angrily, "I'm out of here. Tell Shane I'm happy for him and I'll see him around."
"You're not even going to tell him good-bye?"
"What would it matter? He's with his real father now. He's not going to give a damn whether or not I say good-bye."
With that, Brody picked up his black bag and walked out of Gigi's life.

"Sam, you know that I love you, right?" Lucky Spencer whispered as he held his girlfriend's hands in his.
"Yes Lucky and I love you too."
Lucky drew in a deep breath before continuing, "But I just can't take all of these reporters and paparazzi coming around the house and at the police station."
Sam McCall's eyes filled with tears, "Please, Lucky, please don't tell me that you're going to leave me? All because of my job?"
"Sam, baby, I can't handle this anymore. I can't even do my job anymore without a reporter coming up to me and asking where you are and what you are doing."
Sam's eyes filled with anger, "We've spent two years together and now you decide you can't be with me? I'm not going to quit my job for you Lucky. You were all happy for me and everything when I came home and told you that I was called and asked back to Everyday Heroes."
Lucky looked down at his hands holding hers, not able to say a word. She pulled her hands away from his and he immediately looked up, "I'm sorry."
Standing up, Sam looked down at him on the couch, "Go to hell, Lucky. I don't ever want to see you or hear from you again. I'll send someone over to get my things."
She walked over to the door and turned back to look at the man she had loved for two years, "Stay the hell out of my life!"
He watched as she slammed the door. What the hell had he just done?
