Charlie Weasley's dating problems started when he was twelve and got tricked into going on his first date with one of his good friends. At the time he believed he'd been invited over to his friend's house to spend some time with her outside of school, which was a fantastic opportunity to get out of the always too loud Burrow.
Mr. and Mrs. Tonks had been gracious enough to allow Charlie to spend the Saturday afternoon with them upon Nymphadora's request. It wasn't often she had school friends over, and even less often that one of them was a boy whom she'd shown interest in.
Things had gone fairly well at first. Dora had given her friend a tour of the house – at which time he expressed his jealously that she had a room to herself – and he didn't at all seem to mind the mess that she and her father left in their wake. They had lunch in the back garden, and Charlie managed to save them from having grassy sandwiches when he caught Dora before she tripped and dropped their plates.
After lunch, she brought Charlie into her dad's office where the man was sitting on a lumpy brown couch and watching moving pictures on a strange black box Charlie had never seen before.
"It's called a television," Mr. Tonks explained kindly to the bewildered boy, passing his daughter a small handheld device they called the remote. "It's a muggle invention."
"Dad's muggle-born," Dora said.
Mr. Tonks nodded, smiling. "I grew up with a television, and Dromeda was kind enough to let me get one, so long as she never had to see it."
He left them alone then, and Dora put on a movie and settled on the couch next to her friend.
"Dad would love this," Charlie whispered as the movie began. Dora rolled her eyes.
"It's really not that exciting, but you're welcome to come over with him sometime. I'm sure my dad wouldn't mind explaining it to him."
"Really, Dora? Thanks!" He grinned at her, and she couldn't him but smile back.
At some point during the movie, her hand snaked its way into his and stayed there until the screen when black and it was time for him to go home.
