Harry was stunned when he saw that he was in front of the Wizengamot. He was pretty sure that breaking the Statute of Secrecy and underage wizardry usually didn't involve them.

'I doubt they bother themselves with underage wizards at all.' He thought. 'Wait a minute, the Triwizard Tournament was for adult wizards only, and I was forced to compete, so I should be considered an adult.'

Fudge looked extremely smug. "Mr. Potter you are accused of breaking the Statute of Secrecy and performing underage magic outside of school. The punishment for this is expulsion from Hogwarts and breaking of your wand. Do you have anything to say?"

"Actually I do." Harry said. "The Statute of Secrecy applies only to Muggles who don't know about magic. The Muggle who saw me do magic is my cousin who has been aware of magic since we were small children, though he didn't know it was magic at the time. Arabella Figg, who was the one who brought my cousin and I home, is a squib and has been aware of magic her whole life." Harry took a deep breath. "Also, as you know Minister, I was forced to take part in a tournament that was supposed to be reserved for legally adult witches and wizards. Therefore, I could be considered an adult. The fact I had to take part was confirmed by Headmaster Dumbledore, Ludo Bagman, who is the former head of Magical Games and sports, and Bartemius Crouch, former head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement." Harry paused for breath again. "So, I was confirmed an adult by several highly respected people. The heads of the other schools also let me take part."

"That is quite enough Mr. Potter!" A toad like woman said.

"Do be quiet, Delores." Augusta Longbottom said. "The boy's right. The Statute only applies to Muggles who don't know about magic, and he has provided a good argument for the other charge."

Lucius Malfoy was the next to speak up, surprisingly in Harry's favor. "Indeed he has, Augusta. It is a very good argument and I see nothing wrong with it. I believe he should be declared innocent of the charges laid before him."

Harry caught the man's silver eyes. It would be to Voldemort's advantage to have Harry's wand snapped, why would one of his closest Death Eaters agree to let Harry go?

They took a vote. Harry was declared, not only innocent of the charges but also declared an adult due to the Triwizard Tournament.

Fudge was not happy.

It's a one-shot that may be continued.

Unlikely though.

Idea came from Hijacking the Kangaroo Court by sprinter1988 and Charlie does the Foxtrot or Damn the Torpedoes by Lady FoxFire.

Both are excellent fics. Much better than this one really.

We'll get back to Through the Looking Glass ASAP. We have the actual task down; it's the aftermath we're stuck on.

Trust us, the task is rather short as Harry spams the Kawarami to get close to the Cup to help Cedric get it.

Aorta, stop it with the spoilers.

Meh. So, yeah. Task is done, the Charlie Foxtrot that is the aftermath isn't.
