Written in response of challenge in Chit Chat on Author's Corner "JJ's departure"

Dave opened the letter Aaron had give him, his hands still trembling that she was gone, resigned, quit the job, personal reasons, she never say a word to him. She said good bye to everyone but him. Hotch had stopped by his office to give him her letter.

He closed his office door for privacy. Sitting down at his desk, he opened the envelope to find her beautiful handwriting and started reading.

Dave:

I don´t know how to do this, but I guess I'll start from the beginning: Will is ill.

He didn´t want me to know but I found out. The only treatment for what he has is outside the U.S. and I have to go. He needs me. He gave me Henry and he was willing to die alone, because he knew…he knows that I don´t love him, but I can´t let him do that. It's not fair to him, and it wouldn't be fair to Henry.

Once, a long time ago, I´ve read this quote:

"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control..."

And it fits us, or at least me, and that is why I couldn´t face you. I knew saying goodbye to you would be one of the most difficult things in my life, so that is why I choose this way. Please don´t be angry at the team; they only did what I asked them to do.

I know you´re thinking in following me…don´t! You´re needed in the team; you´re one important part of a team that takes monsters out of the streets, and you deserve a woman that can love you completely not a woman that hates herself for not loving the man that gave her a son, and for leaving the one she will always love.

I love you Dave, you hold the kisses I will never give or receive. I love you. I´ll never say it out loud-to you. You became the men of my dreams, and it breaks my heart to leave you but I have to do what I have to do.

Be happy Dave, find that amazing woman that´s waiting for you, I know you can, you deserve to be happy; you've earned it.

We´ve seen so many horrible things in this job that we sometimes forget that beautiful things happens too. Me falling in love with you is proof of that. Don´t close yourself to love because you´ll depriving a woman to love such an amazing man like you.

I'm trying really hard not to cry over you because every tear is just one more reminder that I don't know how to let you go, how to tell myself that I have to go away from you.

Find that woman Dave and make her see and feel everything I couldn´t.

Dave finished reading the letter and went to find the team but before he whispered the wind: "I promise you."

Already in bull pen he saw his friends and asked: "We have a new case?"
