Author's Note: Happy Fourth of July! Last night I was taking a bath and could hear all the people already shooting off fireworks. This is what came to me. Hope your day is good. Don't drink and drive, choose one or the other! I, however, will be getting plastered. Lol. Reviews are Vodka...get me drunk! Lol. -Delta
Fireworks
Nessie had always loved Fireworks.
Every summer her family would trek to the field out near Jacob's place and set off the large pyrotechnics just for her enjoyment.
When she was younger Quil would bring Claire to come see and even some of her other family, her wolf family would join in on the festivities too.
But this year, none of them came.
This year, it was only Jacob and herself, all alone in that field with those fireworks. Just for them.
She bit her lip as the last one, the 'show-stopper' he had called, burst into the sky.
She watched as the sparks flew into the air, cracking and igniting deep into the black space above them to shower over the darkened area. It cast everything with shadows as it whistled and whirled in the air before finally falling to the ground and leaving everything silent.
Jacob took her into her arms then, and held her tight against his chest.
"Happy Fourth of July," he whispered.
She swore it was the first time she had actually felt those fireworks in the sky.
