Hi there ya'll, as this is my first fanficcy here I'll be brief in this AN and just say that anyone who can guess who Olorin is before I'm finished will get a bowl of chocolate Ice-cream, and the second paragraph is pure Tolkien, as is the verse-Its out of Unfinished Tales!!! All flames will be given to Gothmog for use in Gondolin.

Disclaimer: No I do not own Lord of the Rings, Unfinished Tales, The Silmarillion or any of Tolkien's Books (and I definitely do NOT own Olorin)

In this place and age a tale has come to us from the depths of time of the Valar and the coming of the five Maiar to Middle-earth. This story begins with the summoning of the Maiar to a council of the Valar in which it was resolved to send emissaries to Middle-earth.

"Who would go? For they must be mighty, peers of Sauron, but must forgo might, and clothe themselves in flesh so as to treat on equality and win the trust of Elves and Men. But this would imperil them, dimming their wisdom and knowledge, and confusing them with fears, cares, and weariness coming from the flesh." But two only came forward: Curumo, who was chosen by Aule, and Alatar, who was sent by Orome. Then Manwe asked, Where was Olorin? And Olorin, who was clad in grey, and having just entered from a journey had seated himself at the edge of the council, asked what Manwe would have of him. Manwe replied that he wished Olorin to go as third messenger to Middle-earth. But Olorin declared that he was too weak for such a task, and that he feared Sauron. Then Manwe said that that was all the more reason why he should go, and that he commanded Olorin to go as third. But Varda looked up and said "Not as third".

Curumo was commanded to take Aiwendil with them to please Yavanna, and Pallando also went with the number as a friend to Alatar. They landed in secret in the grey havens, seen only by Cirdan, One clad in white, who was named by all as the head of the group, Two clothed in blue, and one in the brown of the earth, and last of all came the one clad in grey and leaning on a stick, one who seemed the smallest of them all, yet into the keeping of this one was given by the ship wight the Third Ring, Narya of the Flame.

In after years the White one became known as Curunir, Man of craft. Of the Blue ones little is remembered save for their passing into the East with Curunir. Radagast the Brown loved the animals and the birds that lived in Middle-earth and spent his time among them. But this tale concerns not the first four, but the last who was clad in the grey of the stormcloud and concerned himself not with power, or the birds and beasts of the land, but the free peoples for he was the enemy of the Dark Lord Sauron.

Wilt thou learn the lore that was long secret of the five that came from a far country? only one returned. Others never again under Men's dominion Middle-earth shall seek until Dagor Dagoroth and the Doom cometh. How hast thou heard it: the hidden council of the Lords of the West in the land of Aman? The long roads are lost that led thither, and to mortal Men Manwe speaks not. From the West-that-was a wind bore it to the sleepers ear, in the silences under night-shadow, when news is brought from lands forgotten and lost ages over seas of years to the searching thought. Not all are forgotten by the Eldar King, Sauron he saw as a slow menace.
