The characters belong to Geneon and Gonzo Inc…this story belongs to me!
Lucciola could still hear Claus pleading with him to escape the palace once Delphine left the room.
"Dio and you don't belong here, lets get out of here and return to the Sylvana."
(Looks at the glass shard he's just picked up from the floor; his memory flashing back to when Dio called to him from under the table when they were younger.) "Lucciola, me and you are friends." The young prince told him. He saved him a large plate of food. He knew he was hungry. "Shhh, don't tell Delphine, Okay?" Dio had showed him kindness, he did not deserve as a servant.
"friends."the word reverberated in his mind as he stares at the newly crowned king.
"Dio-sama what have you become". He thought while looking at the empty shell that was banging a spoon rhythmically on the table. Delphine had destroyed Dio's spirit. Claus was right, Dio did not belong in the guild , Delphine did not own him, he was meant to be free.
"Claus, take Alvis and follow me, I'll grab Lord Dio." He said quietly, "I will show you a way out."
Grabbing Dio's arm around his neck, he shifted his friends weight upon himself and began leading the way.
"You're doing the right thing, we need to get out of here, Sophia-san will know what to do." Claus uttered.
"There," he pointed ahead of them,"we are almost to the hanger. You will find a vanship which you can fly to safety." Lucciola stated in a matter of fact tone.
"Claus, look, it's the vanship." Alvis squeeled excitedly.
"What about Captain Alex and you?" Claus asked.
"You must forget about Captain Alex, it is too late for him. Save those who can be saved, Alvis needs you, and Lord Dio, he needs you too." Lucciola looked at Dio, his deranged behavior bordering on madness.
"I will stay behind and protect Lord Dio from those who wish to cause him harm, now go, go or I will kill you both" he shouted emotionally looking over at his childhood companion.
"Goodbye my friend," he thought, "I have served you as servant to master but today I will serve you as a friend. Fly free Dio-sama, we will meet again in Exile." Running toward his death he felt no fear, he had been elevated to a place, Delphine would never understand. Dio had picked Lucciola to be his most trusted companion. Lucciola would never betray him, he loved him unconditionally, Dio had shown him freedom and in a few moments he would embrace it fully.
