"You see," Penny said angrily, "This is exactly why I didn't tell you I ran into Zach."
"Okay I'm confused," Leonard said, "Why?"
"Because you always act this way. You get so insecure. You get mad. It's like you expect me to break up with you or something. It's like you don't trust me."
Leonard could see a tear in her eye. Obviously the argument they had last week had a toll on her.
"Penny," he said, "I do trust you. I don't trust me."
"What? Leonard that's stupid. Why wouldn't you trust yourself?"
"Well look at me," Leonard said, "and look at you!"
"Okay," Penny said, "what about me and what about you?"
"Well you're so perfect," Leonard said, "You're beautiful. You're confedent. You're caring. You're smar- well you're not smart like me but you're smart in your own way."
"I'm going to pretend you didn't say the last part," Penny said, "But that's not the point. Leonard I am with you because I love you. I don't want to be with Zach. He was a gigantic a-hole."
"What? Why was he a gigantic a-hole." Leonard asked.
"You don't want to know," she said.
"I do want to know," he corrcted, "If I didn't want to know I wouldn't have asked."
Penny was quiet for a long time and then she spoke.
"He used to get drunk," she said, "and he would get physical with me"
Leonard's eyes shot up to his forehead. He couldn't believe that this beautiful woman and precous person to his heart went through something like this. He wanted to murder that bastard.
"Excuse me," he said.
"Where are you going," Penny asked.
"To kill Zach," Leonard said.
"STOP WITH THAT," Penny said, "That's NOT what I want. You're better then him."
"Penny if I had known," Leonard began.
"Look can we get back on topic," Penny said, "I don't ever want you to doubt yourself again. Promise me."
Lenard sighed.
"I promise," he said hugging her.
"Oh and just to let you know," Penny said, "I trust you and I love you"
