A/N: I only have a couple of things to say about this. First off future Team Gai. Of course minus Neji (spoiler if you aren't that far yet!) and Guy (opps!). Trying to go about life still years later. Second off, I'm in a depressed mood so I guess this works? I mean I wanted to write something like this and I'm already sad sooo...? Third I apologize for any grammar errors. Fourth I apologize for it being so short! Hints of NejiTen and LeeTen.
Here we stand...without you..
Rock Lee stared at the ground, his dark eyes filled with sorrow. Together they had fought and alone he had fallen. It's been five years since the Fourth Great Ninja War and the pain was still fresh. The wound reopened every time the team met up to train and they weren't there. They couldn't show up, of course they couldn't. They would never show up again, they could never be a team again. Not without them. They were still broken.
They had tried to move on, Lee and TenTen began dating, got married, and had a son together. They had named him Yori, and for some reason to her he was a painful reminder. Telling her, he was gone and wouldn't come back to her. She would never say it out loud but she still loved him, still wanted him. It was painful for the both of them in a failing marriage, withdrawn from each other. They loved their son though, and that's all they had to keep them going.
Rock Lee let the tears fall, he let the pain ring out from his throat. He didn't muffle the sobs anymore, he just let them fall from his lips as he stared at the ground. Together they had become a family, and they had been ripped apart. So many things kept them apart, kept them from being complete. He slid to the ground in front of the memorial and leaned against it. The pain was always there, and he doubted that it would ever leave.
"Lee..." A soft voice beside him snapped him out of his painful thoughts.
He looked to see his wife holding their son in her arms with a painful smile on her face. "TenTen..." He stood up slowly and embraced her and their small son.
She let a sob escape her lips as she buried her face into his neck. "I love you Lee. I'm sorry it took so long to say it.."
Rock Lee laid his head against her shoulder and smiled sadly. "TenTen. I love you too." He kissed her shoulder and rubbed her back soothingly. He knew the pain would last a while longer but at least together they had a chance. Together they would stand and together they would fall.
Short thing is short but I wanted to just I don't know do a look into the future. Again I apologize for my mistakes. I hope you like this, in a way it's sort of bittersweet in the end.
