Sakura's Ribbon
By Chibinaoka
The sun had barely risen in the sky as laughter could be heard from one of the upstairs rooms of the Kinomoto residence. The two young girls where sitting on top of an un made bed. Tomoyo began to giggle as Sakura gently brought all of Tomoyo's long raven hair to her backside.
"Sakura-chan, what are you doing?"
"I've always wanted to braid your hair. Now hold still."
Sakura pulled out Tomoyo's hairbrush from her night bag and began brushing her best friends long hair. Tomoyo sat ever so still. Her cheeks blushing softly, she had to keep reminding herself to breath.
"I wish I had nice hair like yours, Tomoyo-chan."
"But your hair style suits you perfectly."
The two girls burst out into giggles.
Tomoyo could feel her hair being pulled as Sakura began braiding it. It didn't hurt but Tomoyo could tell that Sakura wasn't use to doing braids by the way Sakura's fingers scamperer trough her hair.
"Am I hurting you?" Sakura asked as her hands paused.
"No. You're doing fine."
The long braid completed, Sakura slowly tied an elastic around it.
"There." Sakura said with confidence. Although she had rarely done braids, she was quite please at the way the one she did for Tomoyo turned out.
Lifting herself up from the bed, Tomoyo twirled in front of Sakura's tiny mirror, a small sparkle in her eyes.
"It's perfect, Sakura-chan."
Sakura smiled and blush with embarrassment. She snapped upwards and hopped down her bed.
"Wait, its missing something."
Tomoyo blinked slowly, puzzled, as she watched Sakura open her desk. Sakura's hand reached in and when it came out, a long pink ribbon accompanied it. Finger tips holding the edge of each side, Sakura held out the ribbon as far as her arms would stretch. Tomoyo's eyes shone at the sight of the soft pink ribbon with cherry blossom patterns on each ends.
"Oh, Sakura-chan, its so pretty."
Smiling, Sakura walked over to Tomoyo and began tying the ribbon into a bow at the end of Tomoyo's long braid. Tomoyo clasped her hands together and blushed even deeper.
Facing her friend, Sakura brought a stray hair behind Tomoyo's ear.
"Its one of my favorite ribbons but I want you to have it."
Tomoyo's eyes widened.
"Are you sure?"
Sakura nodded.
"Its too long for my hair and it looks better on you then me."
Tomoyo smiled as she brought her braid to the front.
"Thank you, Sakura-chan."
Sakura placed her hands on her own hips and smiled.
"Now let's get dressed and I'll make pancakes for breakfasts."
Tomoyo licked her lips.
"Mmm, a Sakura Kinomoto specialty."
Sakura laughed nervously as she walked towards her closet.
"I don't know if they'll be as good as something you would make, Tomoyo-chan."
Tomoyo shook her head as she began gently poking Sakura on the shoulder, telling her that anything she made was good because she was the one who had taken the time to make it.
Both young girls finally dressed, they headed down the stairs hand in hand.
The End
